I am trying to take a couple of days to be alone and prepare my heart for Sunday. I want to make sure I proclaim the message God wants, and in the way He wants. Please pray for me as I work on the message for Resurrection Sunday! Most of all, pray for me as I work on the messenger. I need MY heart to be right.
I am truly excited about this weekend. I truly believe God has given me a message that will change lives. Let's join together in prayer for Christians to be strengthened and for lost people to be saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ. In fact, I'm praying for all the people you are inviting to church on Sunday. I know the enemy does not want them to be in church. He does not want them to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. He does not want them to know that Jesus lives and can change their life. The devil wants them to hear all the skeptics and doubters who say that Christianity is a lie. He wants them to be confused by all the people who claim the resurrection of Jesus never happened. He does not want them to hear the evidence for the resurrection. The last thing the devil wants is for a person to be under the anointed preaching of the good news of Jesus. I don't know about you, but I want to give the devil a black eye this Sunday! The gospel is still the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. I am asking God to save sinners from the clutches of Hell. Will you join me in this prayer?
I hope you will do more than pray. I hope you will put feet to your prayers by inviting people to be in our services who need to hear this message. One of the easiest evangelistic tools at your disposal is the personal invitation to our church. Use the invitation cards we made available to you. Use social media like Facebook and Twitter. Email your friends. Make a phone call. Walk across the street. Do whatever you have to do to give a winsom and sincere invitation to one of our three services this Sunday. Every week I meet someone at our church for the first time. The majority of them came because someone in the church invited them. Don't underestimate the power of this simple tool.
Let us all come Sunday with expectant hearts. Let us expect God to work in a mighty way through our life groups and worship services. Let's expect people to be touched and changed by God's grace. Be in a spirit of prayer throughout the morning.
You should also expect to be hassled by Satan. He is going to do anything he can to distract you or discourage you. Do not quench the Spirit of God with a bad attitude or unbelief. Jesus lives! That is all that really matters!
