The Master of Every Moment (sermon video is below the outline)
Mark 14:12-26
Introduction: Jesus did not go to the cross as a victim, but as a volunteer. He was not the victim of His circumstances. He was in control of them. Jesus demonstrates He is the master of every moment in three ways. First, in...
I. His Instructions For The Passover (14:12-16)
A) His Personal Participation— "Where do You want us to go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?" (Mark 14:12).
B) His Precise Planning— (Mark 14:13-16).
13 And He sent out two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him. 14 Wherever he goes in, say to the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?” ’ 15 Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.” 16 So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.

II. His Identification Of The Traitor (14:17-21)— "17 In the evening He came with the twelve. 18 Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me'" (Mark 14:17-18).
A. His Sincere Affection— (Mark 14:19-20)
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, “Is it I?” And another said, “Is it I?” 20 "He answered and said to them, 'It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish"'.
B. His Sorrowful Anguish— "… 'Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with Me will betray Me"' (Mark 14:18).
C. His Scriptural Appointment— "The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him …" (Mark 14:21).
12 For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him. 13 But it was you, a man my equal, My companion and my acquaintance.Psalm 55:12–13 (NKJV)
9 Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me. Psalm 41:9 (NKJV)

III. His Institution Of The Supper— "And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it and broke it, and gave it to them … ." (Mark 14:22; Mark 14:23-26).
A. A Communication In Symbols
B. A Communion of the Saints— "Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, and they all drank from it" (Mark 14:23). See also 1 Corinthians 10:16

D. A Commemoration of Salvation— "… This do … in remembrance of Me" (1 Cor. 10:16).
Conclusion: The Master of every moment then is still the Master of every moment now. The Master of every moment for them will be the Master of every moment for you. Trust Him by faith today.
