Chuck Luke is my wife's cousin. Chuck and I attended Corinth Baptist Church together as kids. He is one of the finest young men you will ever meet. He has a passion for the Lord and for sharing His love. God has called Chuck back to West Africa where he once served as a missionary with the International Mission Board. Chuck Luke, native of Valdosta, Georgia, is the youngest of eight children. Chuck graduated from Lowndes High School of Valdosta, Georgia (1994). He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from 1994-1998 at the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, Florida. Chuck served as a Journeyman with the International Mission Board in Mali, West Africa for two years. Chuck lived and work among the Malinké people of western Mali. Chuck was involved in church planting, literacy development, volunteer coordination and hunger relief. After his return to the United States, Chuck took a job working with the North American Mission Board as a local mission coordinator for college students at California Baptist University. Chuck relocated to New York City to work bivocationally as a Graphic Artist for a fashion company while volunteering among the West African immigrant population in Harlem. Chuck returned to Georgia in 2005 secondary to his mother’s failing health. Chuck was inspired to return to school during this time to receive his Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Chuck has worked as an Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Shands UF Hospital in Gainesville, Florida for the past three years. It is Chuck’s heart’s desire to return to Sierra Leone, West Africa and to holistically meet the needs of the unreached muslims/animists and to bring them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Chuck has been commissioned by Pioneers International to commence the beginning of his service in Africa in the Spring/Summer of 2010 in Partnership with GCPN & Restore Hope.
