I hope you are enjoying your time this week in your personal devotions using the book, "Imagine... the fully devoted life." I can assure you that God has really been speaking to me in my quiet time with Him! We will have additional books available in the Life Groups this Sunday if you were not in a group last week or if your class ran out of books.
Let me also thank everyone who attended a Life Group last week. We had 546 people in attendance! Many of you have told me how much you enjoyed your group time and how excited you are about this journey. One young lady came up to me this week in a bookstore and told me how excited her group was about "Imagine." A senior adult lady told me that she read 35 pages in her book while sitting in a hospital waiting room. She said, "I just couldn't put it down!" So please make every effort to be present this week as well. I also need your help in getting more people connected to a group. People who only attend a worship service will miss out on the practical nature of the group lessons and discussion. Attending a Life Group is where you can receive your free book, dig deeper into the topic of the week, and be encouraged by other believers like yourself. So, help me out. Look around your circle of friends and invite them to join you this week. We have groups that meet on Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoon, and Monday night. There may even be some groups meeting at times I'm not aware of. Perhaps you could send them an e-mail with a link to this blog so they can learn more about the campaign. Or you could encourage them to listen to the introductory message I preached last Sunday. The audio of the message is available at our church website, www.fcbcjax.com.
Thank you for allowing me to fulfill my calling as your pastor in equipping you in spiritual maturity and unity (Ephesians 4:11ff). There is only one reason I am leading our church through this spiritual growth campaign: I love you and want to help you grow closer to the Lord. Imagine what a difference it will make in all of our lives, homes, church, and community! Imagine!
