I went home to Valdosta over the Christmas holiday. I worshiped at First Baptist Church of Lake Park, Georgia while I was in town. Several of my wife's family members worship there, as do many people I knew from my days of growing up in Lake Park. Pastor Robert Dawson is one of the finest preachers I know. He is doing a wonderful job of leading God's people to reach their community for Christ. Tim Luke, their Worship Pastor served as my youth pastor when I was growing up at Corinth Baptist Church. He could sing the recipe for chocolate chip cookies and bless your heart!
First Baptist just moved into a new sanctuary a few months ago. It is a truly beautiful place! I took a few pictures after the service. (see below) I have been meaning to get them up for you to see for a while now. If you are ever in the area on a Sunday (I know some of you skip church in Jax so you can go to Wild Adventures!) and need somewhere to worship, I highly recommend you visit this loving congregation.
